Psychotherapy for Adults and Adolescents

Depression * Anxiety * Trauma * Addictions *Self-harming behaviors * Grief and Loss

Hello and welcome! Thank you for visiting my website, and considering me as your therapist. I offer effective psychotherapy services for clients in Howard County and surrounding areas. Common issues that I help clients deal with are: depression, anxiety, addictions, trauma, grief and loss, or self-harming behaviors. I look forward to working with you on your journey to grow from these challenges. I am comfortable working with adolescents and adults from all lifestyles.

While my approach includes cognitive behavioral therapy, psychoeducation, guided imagery, mindfulness, and yoga, I believe what clients need most is a safe, comfortable atmosphere, and a non-judgmental, compassionate therapist who listens intently. I also find light humor and maintaining a positive attitude to be extremely helpful overall.

To learn more about any of my treatment services, contact me today.

What's new:  Pet Grief and Loss Group starting on Saturdays from 1:30pm-2:30pm.  This 6 week group will include psychoeducation about the grieving process, open discussion, opportunity to engage in creative activity, and brief guided meditations.  One individual session is required prior to joining the group. Total cost is $435. Please contact me if you are interested in finding out more.

I offer a free 30 minute initial consultation to see if we are a good fit, which is hard to do via phone and/or email. You can discuss your specific concerns and ask any questions you may have.  So if you are hesitant about the therapy process, I'm hoping this incentive will encourage you to at least take the first step. The worst that can happen is that we aren't a good fit in which case perhaps I can recommend someone else.  You have nothing to lose!

After the initial meeting, if you'd like to continue, we can schedule a longer evaluation (90 minutes), and then after that sessions are 60 minutes. Most clients start out coming weekly and decrease the frequency over time.  Every client is different so we will find what works for you.

10 reasons to give yourself the gift of therapy:

1. You will have lots of "a-ha" moments, when things you've been puzzled by for years finally MAKE SENSE!
2. You will learn that you are not "crazy," even though you might feel that way sometimes.
3. You will become wiser, more compassionate, and more understanding of yourself and other people.
4. You will feel less anxious most of the time by learning specific ways to self-regulate your emotions.
5. You will learn how to stay in the present moment rather than running from your feelings in unhealthy ways.

6. You will get to try lots of fun and new things like yoga, creative projects, mindfulness, and guided imagery.
7. You will get a break from your busy and often hectic life and will have special time just for you.
8. You will have a safe place to let your feelings out.
9. You will finally be able to let go of old beliefs and behaviors that don't support your highest self.
10. Your self-esteem will improve and you might just have a "glow" about you!
